Trip Down Memory Lane--- Part One

From now thru Christmas I'll be busy making things to sell in a bohemian boutique. (You can click on the above necklace picture to enlarge it.) Anyway, the above necklace is part of a line of jewelry I'll be making. But I don't just make jewelry, I make other stuff, including knitted stuff. I have been taking photographs of the things I'm going to sell and while I was in my photo galleries I found all the things I knitted (or crocheted) during the year I blogged as a Road Nurse.

So I thought I'd put some of the pictures here in a series of "Memory Lanes". (And, again, you can click on the pictures to enlarge them.)

This first is a baby sweater I made to sell, as I used to sell my stuff in Texas, too. These funky little baby sweaters sold like hotcakes.

This next one, below, is also a baby sweater---made for my best friend's new baby:

This one, below, too......(a tiny little aran sweater, heh)

This camo blanket I made for another friend, as she and her husband were die-hard Texans and weren't into "dainty" stuff. Their baby was a boy so I made them the below camouflage baby blanket. They loved it.

This next blanket is knitted from various colors of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino---and it made a very soft baby blanket. It was also for my best friend's baby.

Oh Bo, with all the foul language you use in your blog posts and your delight in telling stories about farting in the aisles at WalMart and blaming Blaine, 'ladylike' is simply not a term that could ever be used to describe you.

Mean? Certainly. And from your 'Good Grief' post it appears that's something you're proud of. Insecure? Yes. A Bully? Without question. I won't call you crazy because mental illness is a medical condition, not an insult.

I do wonder though why you don't follow the advice so many have given here both to you and the commenters who don't like you, and simply stop reading things you don't like or that you say offend you? Do you feel you have nothing to offer if you don't insult someone else? That would be very sad, to have a life so small.

You've got your new projects that you're obviously excited about, the things you're going to sell. Why not focus on you?

IT'S NO WONDER YOU ARE SHACKED UP WITH YOUR 'EX'
ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU DON'T WORK AND THINK YOU CAN SEEL THAT SHIT

Bo... said...

You're totally wrong, Anonymous. I am NOT a bully or mean. And about being ladylike? I would rather die than talk about my nipples in a public blog post. I almost fell out of my chair when I read that. And I said it then and I'll say it again--GAG ME!!!

Bo... said...

And yeah, Anonymous---I have lots of friends.

Bo... said...

Well, Marei---that would make you unladylike. (God, it's getting to be epidemic around here....)

YOU ARE TOO ASHAMED TO EVEN SHOW YOUR FACE

Bo... said...

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Dagmar.

Bo... said...

To Anonymous who types in all caps: It's "sell" not "seel". And I've sold my jewelry and other things for years in boutiques and on ebay.

And to Anonymous who says I'm too ashamed to show my face---I've shown my face several times on the blog.

Hi Bohemian Knitter
New to your blog...is Galveston Island inhabited or protected like a national park?
How long did you live in Texas?
I would LOVE to go there some day, oh to be by the gulf!
Is the water really warm?
thanks,
Emmi

Oh, Emmi, you have asked me about my most favorite "dream" of all---that of living on Galveston Island. It's a dream which will never come true but I dream about it all the same. It's a city, but it's a historical city. It's a little on the seedy side but that's part of it's charm. The water is warm there, and I've gone fishing there and caught line snappers. Although I've lived all over the world, I always cherished my memory of playing on the sand with my little bucket and shovel on the beach by the sea wall. I didn't live in America until I entered the university at age 17. I grew up overseas, so you can imagine how happy I was to finally come back home to America and go back to Galveston. My friends who go there always bring me back some Galveston sand!

Alas Bohemian Knitter my dream too is to live by the big water, a view I would never tire of but not likely to ever happen for me as failing health limits me.
Why do you say it is never going to happen for? You sound like you have the "gypsy" in you, it could happen.
Where have you lived in the world, what took ypu to so many places as a child?
Emmi

Bo... said...

Emmi, it will never happen for me because my mother, sister, and Blaine will never go there. For one thing, I'm thinking that I will be the one who takes care of my mother when she gets too old to take care of herself and she'd never want to be too far away from both her girls--and my sister (who's getting married soon) will never consider living there.

When I was young, my parents were diplomats for the US government and we lived on every continent except Australia and the British Isles. As a youngster, I did not appreciate it. All I ever wanted to be was a farm kid who got to "ride the yellow school bus", but alas that wasn't what happened. Also, I almost lost my life and my mother's life in an anti-American incident in the country of Syria.

These days I just dream of Galveston.

I'm sorry to hear of your health problems. How about I "share" my dream of Galveston with you? We can dream....

Hi again, just getting ready to settle down for the night, it has been nice chatting with though...
From your blog I take it you live in Kansas, the state of Kansas? Does your family live close by?
I have crippling rheumatoid arthritis and can only knit for short periods of time, it is fun to go on the computer thought it takes me a while to type..
I will look up Galveston Island on the internet ans picture us there on the beach with tall cool juleps!
Bonne nuit
Emmi

and Oh Bohemian Knitter, I am glad you made it back to the USA and university...you are a nurse?
how frightening for you to have your life threatened..

( I feel weird calling you that, what is your first name?)
I wanted to ask you if you collect beach glass?
I loved to do that whenever I was on the oceanside

Bo... said...

Yes, Emmi---I live in Kansas right now. My mother and sister both live in Texas, and I try to get down there as often as I can. My sister is getting married soon and so Blaine and I will go down for that. I hope your rheumatoid arthritis settles down and allows you more time to do the things you like to do---and yes, let's dream of Galveston and the waves coming in and out!

Yes, Emmi, I'm an RN. But I'm not working right now. The incident in Syria was awful, and sometimes I have nightmares of it, but I am still glad I got to see the Holy Land.

Most people call me "Bo", Emmi, for "Bohemian Knitter". I blog anonymously, no name given, because you never know what type of people might find your real name and stalk you or something. It's for safety reasons.

I can't believe all that hate comes from such a pretty girl
what happened to you

Bo... said...

Thank you, Anonymous. And I don't "hate". I may dislike, I may get aggravated, and I may get disgusted---but I don't hate.

You know, it's the craziest thing with the blogging world. So many people misinterpret honesty, bluntness, and disagreement with "hate". People don't look closely enough to understand. And last time I looked, it wasn't illegal to have dislikes.

ok Bo!
Thanks for connecting...
really must go get ready for bed!
Hope to be back and see more of your work, love that last baby blanket , the square with all the colours! Even my husband commented on it as he passed by, it caught his eye.
Take care
Emmi

And thank you, Emmi, for a pleasant conversation. I'm getting ready for bed, too, after I watch a little TV. Good night!
