...Red Sky in Morning, Sailor's Warning.....

*

Oh Holy Jesus, but the damnable Hurricane Season is upon us again....

I hate Hurricane Season.

Hurricane Season can be completely and horrifically devastating to the southwest, southern, and eastern states of the United States, not to mention the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and the eastern side of Mexico. And right now this minute there's a particularly MEAN one barrelling bullseye and dead-on straight for the beautiful Yucatan Peninsula area of Mexico, our good neighbor to the south.

Many of the Mexican people here in Podunk (many of whom have been or are my patients) are praying mightily for the safety of their families in Mexico, especially those living in the path of the hurricane.

And not five minutes ago the weather people on TV said that this particular hurricane has just been upgraded to the deadliest of wind and damage strengths---the dreaded Category 5 ----which means that it could conceivably flatten much of the Yucatan Peninsula and surrounding areas, killing hundreds---or even thousands.

So let's all pray to the Good Lord for our buddies down there, okay?

Also, we here in Texas are also on high alert for the ensuing storms, possible tornados, heavy rains, and flash flooding which can occur to areas on the fringes of such a huge hurricane....

(And...um...so could y'all also throw in a little "p.s." to your prayer..... asking that the Lord spare my beloved Galveston Island?.....)

Galveston aside...

Hang on, my Mexican buddies!

We here in Podunk are praying for you!!!!!

Is the bad weather actually part of the hurricane going over you guys, or is it caused from the hurricane being close by? I'm glad I live in the middle of the canadian prairies. Worst thing I have to worry about is snow. haha. :D

Stay away from flooded roads Missy! After all, guardian angels have been known to take random time off...
