Proof That Opposites Attract.....

*

* Observe below.....a totally messy, haphazard man called Blaine. (Clue that he is messy: notice all the open drawers, debris on the floor, computer equipment strewn all over the place--- while he works on his computer doing God knows what to it....)

(And I know you appreciate the fact that I cropped the photograph so as to spare you the sight of Blaine's ..... um .... "plumber's derriere"...)

Observe below .... the actions of an obsessive-compulsive neat-freak albeit politely considerate Bo, whose neatness is evidenced by the tidy little Post-It Note stapled to Blaine's lunchbag every morning upon which is written things like "Don't Forget Tupperware!" --- said Tupperware containing Blaine's lunch being located inside the refrigerator--- because if no Post-It Note were there, folks, it's sure-shootin' that Blaine would most probably forget the damn thing and end up toting an empty lunchbag with him to work....

(Trust me, it's happened.)

Observe below .... when I vacuum the living room I place things scattered on the floor out of danger while I am vacuuming--- and then I considerately replace said items back to their original locations when I'm finished vacuuming, whereas.....

Observe below ..... when Blaine vacuums the living room, things sometimes just .... disappear. (Clue: Notice anything missing below? My iPod's earphones are nowhere to be found--- and seemed to have suspiciously gone missing not long after I overheard the vacuum make a godawful, bloodcurdling noise while Blaine was vacuuming ....)

Observe below .... Blaine's mischievous cat with the perpetually guilty expression on his face....

Observe below ..... Bo's quiet albeit spoiled cat who usually sleeps in her tuna dish but is branching out to different sleeping locations (like the sun-dappled spot by the back door now that the weather has turned nice....)

Just another day in paradise at Bo and Blaine's house....

(And Bo is highly grateful to the Almighty Lord that Blaine has never accidentally vacuumed up one of the dang cats....)

Bo,

All this ugliness in the holiest time of year? Please log off, calm down and spend some time thinking about how you can better reflect Christ's love to the world. I hope you intend to attend your church tomorrow - and that you don't allow your addiction to drama to ruin your family's celebrations.

I'll be praying that you experience the peace of God's love.

Who is upsetting you with rude comments? I thought you were going to use your delete button. Don't let other people upset you like this.

Well, that seems uncalled for. It looks like you had some nasty commenters, no? I'm sorry to see that.

As Tottergirl said above, opposites bring balance, and balance is always good to have. Happy Easter.

Well, somehow I missed all the drama here with this post. I'm sorry you had to put up with it again, but hopefully things are better today!

I created a bit of drama myself on an email group - 1 person always forwards political or religious stuff - a lot of it not even true, if she bothered to check it out. So I posted that for me, I would prefer we keep religion & politics out of the group. I haven't decided whether to leave the group or not, I do like it except for always feeling like this gal is trying to force things down our throats. My reply to her response has never come through, so I am thinking I am moderated now - after being part of the group for over 10 years! But I still feel that each of us have our own opinions & beliefs & there are 3 sure ways to ruin a friendship - loan money, talk politics & talk religion. Oh well!

I agree with you, Cindy---I wonder why the group moderator hasn't talked to her about it?? Usually it's in the policies & procedures of the group.

The woman who's post have been annoying me is 1 of the moderators. One of the ones who responded that I should just delete is another & the owner is almost AWOL since she just connects through her blackberry. But oh well! Either I will stay or I won't. I haven't decided if my annoyance is because of the issues going on in my personal life or not, so am just waiting for a while to decide.

On to knitting - think I will be getting my son's measurements tonight & get started on his sweater. He is leaving the colors up to me.

OH, no wonder, Cindy! How frustrating that it's one of the moderators! Moderators should know better, I think. Anyway, have fun with your son's sweater--it's so great when a person lets you pick the colors you want!

I decided to go with a brown & a light brown in a Hobby Lobby baby yarn - Buzzy Bees or some such. It's an acrylic/polamide combo, I believe. I had thought about a different one, but this one suggested smaller needles than the other, so I thought working it on larger needles or at a larger tension would make a lighter weight fabric for May. He seems ok with the colors - the kids in the boxing class thought he was being measured for a suit though. He told them no, it was a sweater & his mom makes awesome sweaters!

He did say he wasn't sure how much he would be wanting to wear it after the graduation ceremony with his name across the chest, but I told him I will do that in duplicate stitch that can be taken out later. In fact, though, this morning I got the idea of doing a fake panel with the name on it & just duplicate stitching the edges of that over the main part of the sweater. That would give me a smaller piece to be working the duplicate stitch on & would then make it faster to take it off afterwards.

Going to get started this evening - I was beat last night about being basically on the go for 15 hours by the time I got home to eat dinner.

Cindy: I love the color combo you picked. And the duplicate stitch/fake panel is a great idea! I like knitting little separate pieces and then sewing them on---I did that for my "Peace, Love & Flower Power Shawl". (Although I think I should have picked better colors for the peace sign one.)

I am beat again after an emergency with my youngest brother developing a arterial blood clot in his right calf about 6 fingers above his ankle 2 nights ago. Was up until after 2 am yesterday waiting to see if he came out of surgery ok - finally got out about 4 am, so I got the message a bit after 6 that he made it. Then they wanted to take him back in yesterday for more, the foot is still pretty cold, but his wife had left to get some sleep & he wouldn't agree unless he saw her or later he told me unless he saw someone because he was afraid he wouldn't make it again (he's 42) - so I headed to Salina about 11 yesterday & stayed until 8:30 pm when they kicked me out. They decided to just run a particular test (I am sure you might know which one) every 6 hours & just monitor him for now - he seems to do better when he isn't agitated - so they finally got him orders for loritabs, an order to flush the cath that was bothering him & an order for a sleeping pill last night - so he was pretty groggy when I left. He did tell me that I didn't love him, if I left. I told him he didn't love me, if he wouldn't take the patch they offered him to take the edge off him wanting a cigarette! He is already handicapped because of heart issues & spinal issues. Would hate to see him lose that foot to though!

Anyway - took my knitting & have a good 6" of the back done on the sweater! Getting about 5 spi on size 9 needles with this baby yarn, so I think it's going to work pretty well.

OMG, Cindy---I am so sorry for your brother! I will add him to my prayers this instant. I'm sure they've got him on blood thinners and are taking blood tests to make sure the blood is "thinned" to the right level. Good Lord that poor man. I would definitely ask the doctor for anti-anxiety meds, a tranquilizer, or anything that will help him not have agitation from all the fear and pain that go with such a serious medical problem & hospitalization. And the nicotine patch always worked well for my hospitalized patients. (Some of them continued it after leaving the hospital to help them quit altogether.) Please keep me informed, and just know that I'm sending good vibes to both of you!

Thanks Bo! Yes, they do have him on heparin through IV. He was still in ICU last night - haven't heard anything yet today. Told him I would be back tonight. His blood was still thick the last time I heard them talking about it. He kept turning down the patch - said they were trying to get him to quit - told him they were trying to help him take the edge off of wanting a cigarette. He said they could give it to him & he would throw it away - I threatened to put it where he couldn't reach it. It's a big story that I have told you some of, but he was born when I was 8 & he called me Mama as a baby. So he seemed to listen to me a bit more maybe that he was to his daughter - at least she thought so. Said I gave him the eye & he would back down a bit. I told him he was acting like a bratty baby brother! Will see what he is like tonight!
